I look at my four children as they are now and cannot help but remember the
baby faces,
defiant two year olds, rambunctious third graders, even those exciting and
trying high school years.
But, they're not children any more. The are utterly unique, absolutely
fascinating young adults. Each is trying to figure out real adult
life... and hold onto the freedoms of youth at the same time. At
times they seem more mature than we are and then....Well, you know...
there are times when they're still just my babies. I love them
dearly, pray for them fervently, and try to gracefully let them
go (all the while holding on tightly). Raising children is NOT
for wimps... But it's hard to imagine anything more important or
joyful or surprising. |
