My
first computer was an AppleIIC, and in addition to keeping my kindergarten
students occupied with various
learning games, its primary purpose was to produce my weekly class
newsletter.
I quickly knew I wanted my newsletter to be "pretty" as well
as informative.
I got hooked... From that time to this time I've been focused on
learning the arts associated with making things pretty on a computer.
That quest has led me to a wide variety of resources from friendly mentors,
to design classes at UCSB, compter classes at the local service
bureaus, books of all kinds,
and most recently, a wide variety of online resources. Our rural and
somewhat isolated islsnad life has made
the internet an invaluable
playground
where
learning everything seems possible.
Surfing from this site to that site, yet another cyber explorer...
I've happened upon some wonderful resources that continue to help me
learn
the arts
that
allow
me to make
things pretty... from digital photo albums of family events, to various
printed projects, and my current passion, web design, I continue to
be amazed at what is possible.. and all there is to learn.
In an attempt
to be just one more link in the chain of learning on the web, and
to point friends, family and visitors to sites that can answer their
questions
far better
than I can, I offer this section of our web as a resource guide for
others who want to learn the arts.
